Problem
The main reason I think people fail with content is that they just misunderstand how it works and the purpose of the different types of content. They either treat it all the same (common) and it becomes extremely unorganized and disconnected, or they only post on a single platform and ignore the others and do not get their benefits (even more common).
Let's break it down:
Most people do not even post content at all. I have heard up to 99% don't, but I have no idea the real number.
Of the people who post, most just post on one platform.
Of the people who post on every platform, most of their content has no real strategy and feels disconnected.
Very, very, very few, probably 0.1% of 0.1% or less actually posts content with real strategy behind it.
That is a big problem for everyone, but a huge opportunity for you.
Example/Story
I know that this is a real problem because I used to be all three of those people at different parts. First, I didn't post at all because I was too scared. Eventually, I got over that and just began posting on Twitter/X. It worked okay, but nothing good. Eventually, I created systems and strategies to post on every platform, but still, it was pretty random, not well-thought out and felt disconnected. The results were still better. Finally, nowadays, I post with the exact same strategy I am going to go over here.
I actually watched a random YouTube short of someone who I cannot even remember going over this strategy, and it all clicked in my brain instantly. Here are the three lessons:
"The only purpose of short form content, both video and written is to get someone to watch your YouTube video or podcast (long-form content)"
"The only purpose of your YouTube or podcast is to get someone on your email list"
"The only purpose of your email list is to get them to book a call"
Implementation
Set up your email list and newsletter with a lead magnet and opt-in page
Choose your best YouTube video. If you don't have one, create a 60-minute case study about how you helped someone achieve a result
Put this link in the bio and pinned post of LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
Post 3 short Tweets per day
Post 1 Thread per day
Post 1 Instagram Carousel per day
Post 1 LinkedIn Carousel per day
Post 1 Short Form Video per day
Post 1 audit video per week
Post 1 deep dive video per week
Post 1 five-step process to solve X problem per week
Post 1 podcast per week
Post 1 newsletter per day that takes under 3 minutes to read
Each newsletter should have link to your conversion mechanism such as book a call
If you do it like this, your content on each channel will amplify the other channels, and you will start getting an influx of leads and clients.
